Christopher Kalwa, Director of Bands
Christopher Kalwa is the Director of Bands at Martin County High School and is entering his second year leading the program. With 18 years of teaching experience, he brings extensive musical knowledge, a passion for music education, and a strong commitment to helping students grow as musicians and performers. A saxophonist by training, Mr. Kalwa draws upon his years of classroom and ensemble experience to guide the Tiger Regiment and foster a culture of teamwork, excellence, and pride throughout the band program.
Marilyn Southwick, Assistant to the Director
Marilyn Southwick, a teacher at Anderson Middle School, is serving as Assistant to the Director this year and as a Board Member at Large for the Martin County High School Band Boosters. She has also been a dedicated and heavily involved supporter of the band program since 2021. A proud Martin County High School alumna from the Class of 1996, Marilyn also performed with the Color Guard. Her connection to the program has continued as an alumna, band parent, and general supporter, allowing her to contribute a valuable combination of experience, history, and dedication. Her continued involvement reflects her commitment to supporting the Director, the Booster organization, and helping today’s students create meaningful memories through the Tiger Regiment.
Priscilla Szollosy, Color Guard Director
Priscilla Szollosy has served as Color Guard Director for four years, bringing 16 years of experience in DCI and WGI to the Martin County High School band program. Her extensive background gives her a strong understanding of the technique, creativity, discipline, and teamwork required to create memorable performances. Through her leadership, Priscilla helps Color Guard members develop their skills, confidence, and stage presence while contributing an essential visual element to the Tiger Regiment’s performances.
Alexander Hastings, Color Guard Instructor
Alexander Hastings is beginning his first year as a Colorguard Instructor with the Martin County High School band program. He brings a unique performance background and creative perspective to the Tiger Regiment, helping Colorguard members strengthen their technique, confidence, and visual presence. Outside of the band, Alexander is also a fire performer, an exciting skill that reflects his passion for performance and ability to captivate an audience. He looks forward to sharing his experience and helping students create dynamic, memorable performances on the field.
Erick Cisneros, Color Guard Instructor
Erick Cisneros brings four years of experience to his role as a Color Guard Instructor with the Tiger Regiment. His experience and performance background provide our students with valuable instruction as they continue to develop their skills, confidence, and artistry.
A notable achievement in Erick’s performance career is earning a WGI Gold Medal in Independent World Class, one of the highest levels of competition in the indoor color guard activity. He brings that high-level performance experience and dedication to excellence to his work with the Tiger Regiment.
